On Saturday, April 13, hundreds will gather at the Parrish Art Museum in Water Mill for one of the most beloved seasonal soirees, Spring Fling. The community celebration, fundraiser, and networking event will take place from 7:30 to 11 p.m.
“We are grateful to Spring Fling sponsors and attendees for their generosity, which helps to support for the Museum’s year-round children’s education programs, as well as Access Parrish, a recent initiative for children and adults with special needs, including visitors with dementia and their care partners” said Maryanne Horwath, who is Co-Chairing Spring Fling along with Christine Curiale-Steinmuller and Laura Wynne. “I’m proud to be a part of Spring Fling, making important programs like these possible in our community. Come and join us on Saturday evening!”
Attendees will enjoy music by DJ Twilo – who has worked in recording studios for notable musicians including Beck, Bjork, Phillip Glass, and Alicia Keys, a silent auction, photo booth, open bar and hors d’oeuvres catered by Elegant Affairs. As per usual, the silent auction will boast a bevy of highly coveted prizes, including rounds of golf at The Maidstone Club and Hampton Hills Golf & Country Club; four tickets to a taping of Dr. Oz; an overnight stay at Gurney’s; VIP passes to the Hampton Classic Horse Show; and gift certificates to local restaurants, fitness and spa treatments; wine baskets, luxury items, and more.
The evening will also allow guests to explore the spectacular Museum. Music will fill the Lichtenstein Theater, bidding on the silent auction will take place in the lobby, and there will be four exhibitions in the Parrish galleries. Renate Aller: The Space between Memory and Expectation and Jean-Luc Mylayne: A Matter of Place, a duo of massively scaled photographs exhibitions, as well as Parrish Perspectives: Recent Acquisitions, and the Museum’s Permanent Collection, Every Picture Tells a Story, a new multi-gallery installation, will be on view.
Established in the 1990s, Spring Fling raises over $100,000 annually, which supports Access Parrish, a continuous initiative that provides education opportunities specifically towards youth and adults with varied needs and abilities, including children on the autism spectrum, and those with Alzheimer’s Disease, dementia, or Parkinson’s Disease, and their care partners. The soiree also backs year-round programs, including school collaborations, like Museum tours, studio programming, and programs created in partnership with regional educators; after school art workshops; school vacation programs; weekly open studios for families and teens; bi-lingual family tours; and the Museum’s annual Student Exhibition, which highlights student artwork from over 30 regional elementary, middle, and high schools.
Spring Fling tickets are $225.
