Fifth Annual AJJ Scholarship Fund Cocktail Party To Take Place At Edgewater Restaurant

The AJJ Scholarship Fund will host its 5th Annual Cocktail Party at Edgewater Restaurant in Hampton Bays on Saturday, February 1.

From 6 to 9 p.m. party-goers will enjoy an open bar, delicious bites prepared by Edgewater, Super Bowl pool prizes, the chance to take home some amazing raffles, and more.

The AJJ Scholarship Fund was established in 2002 to honor the legacy of Hampton Bays High School graduate Art Jones, who lost his life in the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001 and “empower young men and women leading their lives in his likeness.” Since its inception, the AJJ Scholarship Fund has bestowed more than $230,000 to scholarship recipients and community initiatives.

“This is the first year that the AJJ Scholarship Fund donated to the Hampton Bays Little League,” Carol Francolini, Board of Directors member, relayed. “We wanted to ensure that all kids who wish to play are not deterred for financial reasons. We provided the registration fees for ten children, which enabled them to participate when they otherwise would not have been able.”

The AJJ Scholarship Fund is the single largest benefactor to graduating seniors at Hampton Bays High School. “The AJJ Fund was also proud to be an event sponsor this year in honoring three Hampton Bays Baymen who enlisted in the military upon graduation,” Francolini said. “At a joint ceremony with Southampton and Westhampton schools, they were presented with proclamations, an American flag that was flown above the high school, a pocket US Constitution and a $250 scholarship. Their families were given Blue Star flags to proudly hang in their windows. The event was intended to say thank you to our young service members for their commitment to serve prior to deployment.”

Additionally, the Fund champions the local Lions Club and other worthy causes.

In addition to the Cocktail Party, The AJJ Scholarship Fund holds an annual summer Golf Outing.
