Hamptons SPAY-ghetti Dinner To Support TNR Program, Advo-cats

Southampton Animal Shelter Foundation (SASF) will host its annual SPAY-ghetti Dinner on Thursday, March 12 at 78 Foster Avenue in Hampton Bays. The evening will support SASF’s TNR Program, Advo-cats.

“Please join us for our annual SPAY-ghetti event. It’s sure to be a great time for an even greater cause – controlling our feral cat population on the East End,” Barbara Maresca, Co-Executive Director Southampton Animal Shelter Foundation, encouraged.

In addition to the delicious spaghetti dinner, the benefit will boast a wide array of exciting prizes featured in the 30 raffle baskets, a 50/50 and door prizes.

“A big thank-you to 78 Fosters and everyone who donated raffles for our SPAY-ghetti Dinner!” Katie McEntee, SASF Director of Adoptions, expressed.

Funding from the gathering will assist SASF prevent the overpopulation of homeless animals throughout the East End. “TNR is the most effective and humane way to control the population of feral cats. Cats are trapped in humane traps, come to our clinic to be fixed (spayed or neutered) and vaccinated and then released back to where they came from,” McEntee explained. “They are able to live out their lives without adding more feral cats. Kittens or young cats (who maybe not be feral and can be rehabilitated) stay with us at the shelter to eventually find their forever homes.” Since its was established, SASF’s Advo-Cats TNR Program has spayed and neutered thousands of feral cats.

Admission to the SPAY-ghetti Dinner is $35 in advance and $40 at the door. The benefit begins at 6 p.m.

“This program is run on donations and your support at SPAY-ghetti dinner allows us to continue this important mission,” McEntee added.

SASF is a non-profit organization that devotes themselves to the homeless pets of the East End community, with the mission of placing these lovable pets in permanent homes. Overall, the Shelter’s goal is to “promote and nourish the bond between people and animals through adoption, education and community outreach.”
