Many around the world have been called to stay indoors due to the rampantly spreading Coronavirus, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t a myriad of important organizations that still need our support. That’s why Southampton Animal Shelter Foundation (SASF) is hosting The Greatest Party That Never Was! Animals still need our help and thanks to Southampton Animal Shelter, you still can! You, your housemates, and four-legged family members are formally invited to stay home and support Southampton Animal Shelter Foundation from the comfort of your couch on Thursday, April 30.
“Fundraisers and events have been canceled across our Nation due to COVID-19. Most 501(c)(3) nonprofits like the Southampton Animal Shelter Foundation rely heavily on fundraisers and events to help meet their annual operating budgets. So we came up with ‘The Greatest Party That Never Was.’ You are invited to stay at home with your pet and support the Southampton Animal Shelter Foundation right from your couch,” remarked Kate McEntee, Director of Adoptions. “Your donation to this imaginary event will provide our homeless pets with top notch care and support. This is a very fake event for a very real cause!”
Here’s how this non-party will work. Purchase your ticket and submit a photo of yourself with your pet. This will be developed later on into an artistic representation. A group photo of all the party non-goers will be posted to the Southampton Animal Shelter Foundation’s Facebook and Instagram pages.

This year there is no VIP section, no special parking and no special swag bags, and you can even don sweatpants to the soiree – or wear your party best. Your ticket is a true donation that goes directly to caring for the animals at the SASF.
In addition to the fundraising efforts, Southampton Animal Shelter Foundation is also aiding those that reside the Town of Southampton through SASF’s Food Pantry Program. The Shelter is facing an overwhelming demand, which has led to a lack of inventory. SASF is seeking donations of dry and canned pet food via their Amazon Wishlist www.amazon.com. SASF will also accept drop off donations, which can be left in their donation dog house in front of the shelter’s entrance, or shipped to the Shelter.
Southampton Animal Shelter Foundation thanks you in advance for staying inside and continuing to support the animals during this uncertain time.
Southampton Animal Shelter is located at 102 Old Riverhead Road West in Hampton Bays. To make your donation, visit southamptonanimalshelter.com.
