Just after Fat Tuesday, Bay Street Theater & Sag Harbor Center for the Arts is bringing the spirit of New Orleans to the East End during their Mardi Gras Party on Saturday, February 21st. Starting at 8 p.m., celebrate Carnival by getting down to music from the Hoodoo Loungers and Gene Casey & the Lone Sharks.
New Orleans Mardi Gras style party band, HooDoo Loungers, blend original music with re-arranged New Orleans classics. The nine piece band always delights audiences with their high energy performance, which cover traditional New Orleans Jazz, Brass Band, classic R&B and funk.
East End based Gene Casey and the Lone Sharks have performed alongside or shared the billing with Elvis Costello, The Who’s John Entwistle, Wanda Jackson, NRBQ, Link Wray, Sleepy LaBeef, Bill Kirchen, The Highway QC’s, and an especially memorable evening with Tiny Tim. Their rhythm and twang music has been featured in FX Network’s “Sons of Anarchy” and “Justified,” as well as “The Tall Man” starring Jessica Biel and “The Killing Season” starring Robert DeNiro.
