On Monday, December 14th, over 200 guests gathered at the Rosenthal Pavilion at NYU’s Kimmel Center for “Bash for the Bulldogs,” the annual Long Island Bulldog Rescue (LIBR) celebration. The evening was hosted by animal activist Beth Ostrosky Stern, with NY1’s George Whipple as emcee.
“Talk Stoop” host Cat Greenleaf, Jill Rappaport, Jason B. Hurwitz, producer of the new Bulldog movie, “The Dog Wedding,” and Tom Murro were among attendees.
“The problem is people don’t understand Bulldogs, they should research the breed before buying,” explained Ostrosky Stern. “LIBR is overwhelmed with abandoned dogs this year – the cost is astronomical! My heart belongs to these Bulldogs!”
Laurette Richin, founder of Long Island Bulldog Rescue, was thrilled with the large turnout and grateful for all the LIBR supporters. “Thanks to the vets that help us get this done, and about 230 volunteers and their tremendous efforts 24/7,” she expressed.
Proceeds from the soiree support Long Island Bulldog Rescue’s efforts to help, heal and home the skyrocketing numbers of abandoned English Bulldogs.
