Stony Brook Southampton Hospital’s Diamond Jubilee 60th Annual Summer Party Honors The Catsimatidis And Mosler Families

Bill O’Reilly, Kimberly Guilfoyle, Judi Giuliani, and Chuck and Ellen Scarborough were among those who added sparkle to the Diamond Jubilee 60th Annual Summer Party for Stony Brook Southampton Hospital. John, Margo, Andrea and John Jr. Catsimatidis and Bruce, Wendy, David and Charlotte Mosler were honored.

Money raised will once again go to the Stony Brook Southampton Hospital’s Jenny and John Paulson Emergency Department. It is the sole provider of emergency care in the South Fork, and no one is turned away.

Chief Administrative Officer Robert S. Chaloner has somehow managed to inspire and cajole many philanthropic pillars of the Hamptons to come into the Hospital Tent, (figuratively and once a year, literally, to a very air conditioned one). The Hospital now includes The Audrey and Martin Gruss Heart & Stroke Center, The Ellen Hermanson Breast Center and is set to open The Phillips Family Cancer Center later this year. There are 32 additional satellite care centers throughout the South Fork.

How has he gotten so much out of so many? “You can’t ask unless you’re providing really good service,” Chaloner told Hamptons.com. “And I have a really, really good team of people to make suggestions: our Chief Development Officer and President of the Southampton Hospital Foundation Steve Bernstein, the Foundation, our medical staff. We’re thinking constantly if we have an opportunity to meet potential donors, what might strike their fancy. Often, it’s something that they or a member of their family, have experienced.”

Now, Stony Brook Southampton is looking towards building a completely new facility. But, first, there will be some serious “strategic planning.” “We’re looking at how the needs of the community will be growing and changing through the coming years,” Chaloner explained. “The population continues grow at a sure and steady pace. Our country’s population is aging as the baby boomers get older, but we’re a place that people generally come to as they get towards retirement years, so we need health care services that are geared toward the older side of the age spectrum. We’re also seeing a more diverse community, with the growth of the Latino population and more international visitors.”

Right now, we’re happy to enjoy an emergency room that looks and acts like a concierge service yet services all. “Because we’re small we are able to provide that personal service,” Chaloner continued. “We put an emphasis on timeliness, efficiency, cleanliness and high quality. We are a community hospital and we’re going to bring all of our skill and caring to everyone who comes through our front doors.”
