The LongHouse Reserve, a not-for-profit garden museum in East Hampton, will continue its 25th anniversary celebrations with the popular Planters: On + Off the Ground VIII garden container invitational. The unique garden competition that showcases the designs of artists and gardeners from the East End will be on display to be judged for prizes on Saturday, June 25th from 4:30 to 7 p.m. A special ribbon presentation, hosted by Martha Stewart, will take place at 6 p.m.
This year, the contest calls for even more creativity. Competitors are encouraged to use silver in their designs – ranging from antiques to cutting-edge, modern pieces. Each entry will be evaluated by the guests in hopes of winning the People’s Choice Award, which will be presented by Martha Stewart. The event will be hosted by LongHouse Reserve founder, Jack Lenor Larsen, and LongHouse’s Garden Committee Chair, Elizabeth Lear. Lenor Larsen will also be signing copies of his new book, Learning from LongHouse.
