East Hampton’s Cavagnaro Complex Sells For $5M

Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, Jackson Pollack, and Billy Joel were all regulars at the Cavagnaro Bar & Grill and Cavagnaro Deli, part of East Hampton’s landmark Cavagnaro complex on Newtown Lane that just sold for $5 million. Hamptons real estate broker Alan Schnurman of Saunders & Associates closed the deal and remarked in a statement, “This is the most well-known building in East Hampton.”

The commercial property, built in 1923 by Albert Cavagnaro, was on the market for several years and includes three retail stores, eight apartments, a four-car garage, and separate one-family house. The complex is currently rented by the likes of Mary’s Marvelous, a gourmet shop known for brownies.

“It’s a pleasure to have sold this high-profile complex after it has been on the market so long,” says Schnurman who has been buying and selling properties in the Hamptons for years.
