Ever wonder what’s hiding behind the pristinely manicured privet that lines many of the spacious yards of stately Hamptons abodes?
For one day only, Southampton Historical Museum is presenting a sneak peek at a specially curated selection of exquisite Hamptons architectural gems during the Museum’s 8th Annual Southampton House Tour Insider’s View on Saturday, June 3.
“This year’s house tour is an opportunity for anyone to go behind the hedges and through the front doors of some of Southampton’s finest homes,” shared Tom Edmonds, Executive Director, Southampton Historical Museums and Research Center. “This year’s homeowners are willing to share their private interiors because they believe in the Southampton Historical Museum’s extensive education programs which are growing every year.”

Houses will range from a private, spacious oceanfront home to a traditional residence in the heart of the village, and many other impressive dwellings. Tourgoers will have the rare chance to explore the inside of the striking homes, taking note of the fascinating interiors that reflect the abode’s owner’s unique personal style, whether it be a high-style contemporary appearance, timeless sophistication or an eclectic design.
Attendees can tour the houses from 1 to 4 p.m., and a champagne reception, catered by Sant Ambroeus restaurant, will be held at the stunning Rogers Mansion (17 Meeting House Lane, Southampton) beginning at 4:30 p.m.
The Southampton Historical Museum, which is open year-round, offers rotating exhibits on historic topics, a research center, and widespread education programs for students and adults. “This fundraiser enables us to offer all of our children’s programs for free,” added Edmonds. “Last year 39,405 visitors came one of our four properties with 15 historic buildings for lectures, community festivals and guided tours. We have become a major attraction in the Village with thriving education programs for schoolchildren, both on site and in the classroom.”
