Honestly, Rowdy Hall has been an Amagansett staple for decades. In all my years living out here, I’ve never seen a restaurant open and be so radically embraced by the community. You can see why when you go to Rowdy Hall for the first time. The place’s design is inviting, the menu is easy and interesting, and the people running the show are all hospitality professionals.
If you want to be anonymous, this isn’t your place. Walking in, I received waves from at least five different people. There were plenty of familiar faces, but I didn’t just go to Rowdy Hall to run into old friends; I went because it’s awesome.
With a pub vibe, the food is anything but typical. While you can get a burger and fries here, what’s even better is the Moroccan Cauliflower appetizer, the Roasted Cod Fish, or the Duck and Smoked Pork Cassoulet. All of them are outstanding, prepared with perfection, and featuring fresh ingredients—a rarity in today’s restaurants. The food here truly shines.
In terms of drinks, you won’t find a better beer selection on draft in the Hamptons. Behind the bar is an absolute wizard whose concoctions are often featured on the restaurant’s Instagram page @rowdyhallamg. And if you’re not into alcoholic beverages, try the fresh, unsweetened iced tea. It comes in a bottle, made by a small Long Island company obsessed with iced tea, and is remarkably refreshing. I’m still thinking about it; this iced tea is so complex and rich that you can’t believe someone elevated it to another level.
You can’t miss Rowdy Hall, which is located in such an important and iconic spot in Amagansett, right in the center of town. It’s nice to see that they’ve nailed it. Once you go there, you’ll want to go back.
