Missy Chase wears a lot of hats. A full-time resident of Bridgehampton, she sells luxury for Saunders & Associates in the Bridgehampton office, but she’s also a bestselling author and she recently published her eighth book, “While Waiting For Water To Boil: 50 Life-changing things you can do in under 5 minutes.”
The book is adorable and as you flip through it, it shares 50 simple, life-changing ideas you can do in just 5 minutes while you’re waiting for your tea to boil. “I wanted to answer the question, how could you improve your life in just 5 minutes per day?” Missy told me. “In the morning I make tea, and during the time I’m waiting for the pot to boil, I started to come up with some ideas. I’m one of those people that doesn’t like to waste a minute out of the day, so I figure during those five minutes I could develop a little habit to better my life.”
As you flip through the book, you get the idea of what she’s doing immediately, and it actually is pretty handy. Some of the directions in the book include to:
- Take 15 slow deep cleansing breaths
- Make a water infusion for the day
- Do 3 sets of squats holding onto the oven door
- Call someone to say I love you
How can you argue with any of that advice? You can’t, but what’s nice is that this book is a gentle reminder of the important things in life, and to share it with people you care about. It makes a great gift, and the artwork by Molly Rosner is fabulous. The book can easily be bought on Amazon here.
