Nikki’s Not Dog Stand is located at 51 Division Street in Sag Harbor. You may be asking, if they are not hot dogs, then what are they? Well, they are vegan hot dogs. The owner, Nikki Glick, wanted to provide a fast-food place where you could grab a hot dog with all the fixings and an Olipop soda and relax with friends. If you have ever driven through Sag Harbor in the summer, you are familiar with the long waiting times, lack of parking, and limited vegan options. Well, Nikki’s is the answer. You can order online or in person and enjoy your hot dog before carrying on to your next destination. It’s the perfect fix for a hot summer day or after grabbing a beer at Murph’s.
Their motto is “where the past meets the future,” and you will definitely feel that once you step inside. You are transported back in time. The retro-inspired interior features a red-checkered floor, yellow metal swivel bar stools, and custom baseball card posters. The bebop music also makes you feel like you just left your high school sock hop and are meeting up with friends for a quick bite.
The menu features some very cool Not Dogs like the New York Dog: a vegan hot dog topped with sauerkraut, spicy brown mustard, and tomato onion sauce, or the L.A. Dog: a vegan hot dog topped with sautéed peppers and onions, pico de gallo, yellow mustard, ketchup, and vegan mayo. Who doesn’t like a good East Coast and West Coast beef? You get to choose which one is better!
The vegan chili is so good, you can also order a side of it, along with white sweet potato fries and Jack’s sweet potato chips. Satisfy your sweet tooth with Greyston Bakery’s vegan brownies and blondies.
Next time you’re in Sag Harbor, make sure to stop by Nikki’s for a delicious quick bite.
