South Fork Sea Farmers’ 4th annual “Shell it Out” fundraiser is happening August 7, 2022 in Springs from 4pm to 6:30pm. The event features a silent auction with goods and services donated by local businesses which support the mission of South Fork Sea Farmers. Most notably, three incredible East End artists – Daniel Vernola, Aaron Warkov and Kurt Giehl – will be creating a series of pieces for the auction.
“As an oyster farmer myself, it was an easy decision to create paintings to the Shell It Out silent auction. So much of my art is inspired by the amazingly beautiful water on the east end. Giving back to an organization that does so much to keep those waters pristine is a no brainer.” shared Kurt Giehl.

South Fork Sea Farmers is a not-for-profit organization that works collaboratively with the East Hampton Town Shellfish Hatchery to expand and broaden educational programs across the East End and promote the Town’s oyster gardening project.
South Fork Sea Farmers promotes and encourages public oyster gardening which helps keep our waters clean, provides habitat for marine life and improves our overall ecosystem. Their hope is that other communities see the benefits of what’s happening across the East End and begin similar efforts in their waters. The event will focus on raising funds for its educational seminars for the public throughout the year.
Local oysters will be shucked on-site for guests to enjoy along with lite bits by East Hampton’s Food & Co. The event is being held at the home of Jeff Ragovin and Kurt Giehl.
