The Southampton Animal Shelter Foundation is proud to announce that Patricia Deshong has been selected as their new Executive Director.
As the Foundation focuses on its next phase of growth, it was critical for them to select a leader who has demonstrated the significant expertise and skills needed to impact and serve in this important executive role. They have found the best fit to lead them into new and ambitious service goals for our area in native New Yorker Pat Deshong.
Pat comes to the foundation with decades of impressive, demonstrated leadership results, having transformed animal rescue nonprofits into revenue-generating, mission-focused entities. Her immediate past position as President of Florida’s Furry Friends Adoption, Clinic & Ranch, has distinguished her as a nationally recognized leader, strategist and media spokesperson capable of implementing lasting change in a community.
Since 2014, Pat facilitated the significant expansion of the only no-kill shelter in northern Palm Beach County. She transformed the organization from a nonprofit deeply in debt to a revenue-positive operation it is today, collecting national accolades and media attention from outlets including TODAY, NBC, People, ABC, CBS, Hallmark Channel, and more along the way.
Under her leadership, the non-profit reported saving over 1100 abused and abandoned animals and placing them in forever homes in 2020. A standout success on its own and a 50% increase in animals adopted since 2016. She helmed lifesaving programs and initiatives that currently serve veterans, seniors, and families and launched a successful $5 million capital campaign to build a facility in response to the growing demand from the community to care for homeless animals and provide affordable veterinary healthcare. The culmination of this effort was the 2019 opening of a state-of-the-art facility which was made possible through campaigning and donations spearheaded by Pat.
