Baron’s Cove is kicking off the summer season this Sunday, May 21st from 1:00-4:00 p.m. The friends of the John Jermain Memorial Library are hosting this fundraiser to be held at Baron’s Cove, located at 31 West Water Street in Sag Harbor. Cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, and dessert will be offered to all those in attendance.
Award-winning authors Hillary Davis and Stacy Dermont will be joining the event to discuss their acclaimed cookbook released in 2020, The Hamptons Kitchen: Seasonal Recipes Pairing Land and Sea. Some of their recipes will be available for sampling, along with herbs for sale and an auction with several food-related items. The Hamptons Kitchen will also be available for purchase, and Hillary and Stacy will be doing a signing during this summer kick off benefit.
Baron’s Cove is a premier waterfront resort in Sag Harbor, and they always strive to offer the best to their Hamptons guests. They have many amenities, with one of their biggest attractions being The Restaurant. Visitors and locals alike rave about the fine cuisine at Baron’s Cove’s award-winning restaurant.
With such a focus on the dining experience at this resort, naturally their summer kick off would incorporate that essence of the establishment. Hillary Davis and Stacy Dermont are just the pair to help celebrate the start of the summer season in the Hamptons. They say their cookbook will “take you to your ‘Hamptons place’ no matter where your kitchen is.” And as they come together with Baron’s Cove on Sunday, not only will tastebuds be delighted, but the Hamptons spirit will be felt among everyone!
Food is what initially helped form the bond that Hillary and Stacy share, serving as the spark for their friendship and co-authorship. When discussing their book and backgrounds on their site, they say, “Over many meals and food-oriented adventures, we came to the conclusion that we wanted to share what we love about this very special part of the world. We thought that as a team we were ultimately qualified to write a definitive cookbook about the Hamptons, not only because of our individual knowledge, but because we represented the two sides of the Hamptons.”
Hillary has written four French cookbooks with French cooking being a main component of her culinary background after living in France for years, whereas Stacy comes from a farm background and has expertise on local produce and wine.
As part of the exciting kick-off event at Baron’s Cove, a representative from The East End Food Institute will be in attendance to discuss their important work with local farmers on the East End.
This is an event that Hamptons-goers and locals won’t want to miss, and it’s a great way to come together in support of our local community. So, kick off the summer season at one of the Hamptons’ most exclusive resorts on the water with Hillary and Stacy for an afternoon of tasty snacks and drinks, education, and East End fun!
