It’ll be a busy holiday season at Southampton Arts Center (SAC), who is closing out the year with not-be-missed performances, screenings and more.
“2016 has been an incredibly exciting year for Southampton Arts Center, and we look forward to ending the year on a high note with another month of entertaining programs for the community,” shared Amy Kirwin, Southampton Arts Center Director of Programs. “Then we will be back in January 2017, offering programs and exhibitions year-round for the first time since opening in 2013.”
Colorama, SAC’s collaboration with the George Eastman Museum, will remain on view through Saturday, December 31st.
On Friday, December 2nd, enjoy a screening of Peggy Guggenheim: Art Addict at 7 p.m. The Lisa Immordino Vreeland documentary follows heiress Peggy Guggenheim who turned into a central figure in the modern art movement and collected not only art, but artists.

Valerie diLorenzo will serenade audience members with songs from The Great American Songbook, Broadway, and even some holiday tunes during a Cabaret Concert on Saturday, December 10th at 7 p.m.
Cornell Cooperative Extension’s Marine Program will team up with SAC for another Brush Strokes for the Bays – Social Painting Class with Carolyn Munaco on Thursday, December 15th at 6 p.m.
Celebrate National Ugly Sweater Day by cracking up with the Griswold during a screening of National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation on Friday, December 16th at 7 p.m. Make sure to wear a doozy because the person that comes donning the ugliest sweater will be awarded a prize.

Live from Southampton Arts Center, presented with The Jam Session Inc., returns for 100 Years of New Orleans Music – From Louis Armstrong to Trombone Shorty on Saturday, December 17th at 7 p.m. Members of The HooDoo Loungers, including Music Historian/Filmmaker Joe Lauro, will join The Jam Session’s Claes Brondal for a retrospective of The Big Easy’s music history.
Finally, catch a seasonal classic, A Christmas Story, on Friday, December 23rd at 7 p.m. All little Ralphie Parker wants for Christmas is a “Red Ryder Air Rifle.” Can he convince his cranky dad and doting mother that this is an age appropriate gift and make it through the treacherous holiday season without an encounter from a malicious bully?
