Hamptons International Film Festival (HIFF) and Guild Hall are presenting a special winter screening of “The Searchers” on Saturday, February 7th at 7 p.m. HIFF Advisory Board member Alec Baldwin along with HIFF Artistic Director David Nugent, will host the event, which will take place at Guild Hall in East Hampton.
During his career, director John Ford teamed up with John Wayne for 21 projects. “The Searchers,” their 1956 iconic film, is often cited as one of the top ten greatest movies of all time. The Western follows Ethan Edwards (Wayne), a Civil War veteran, as he embarks on an expedition to rescue his niece (Natalie Wood) from an Indian tribe. “The Searchers is perhaps the greatest Hollywood film that few people have seen,” said author Glenn Frankel in his book, “The Searchers: The Making of an American Legend.” Enjoy a cinematic evening where you can see the American adventure as it was meant to be seen, on the big screen.
Tickets are $22 for general admission and $20 for members.
Guild Hall is located at 158 Main Street in East Hampton. For more information, call 631-324-0806 or visit www.guildhall.org.
