HamptonsFilm is presenting a summer outdoor film series at Herrick Park in East Hampton. The Wednesday night screenings will feature a wide variety of iconic movies.
“Thanks to the Mayor and Trustees of East Hampton, outdoor movies will be in Herrick Park every Wednesday all summer long!” Anne Chaisson, HamptonsFilm Executive Director, shared.
The series kicked off on Wednesday, June 2 with The Endless Summer II. The rest of the month will bring Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (June 9), The Perfect Storm (June 16), Frozen (June 23), and Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone (June 30). In July, the series continues with The Parent Trap (July 7), Grease (July 14), Dirty Dancing (July 21), and Shrek (July 28). August will feature Mean Girls (August 4), Cars (August 11), The Wizard of Oz (August 18), and Finding Nemo (August 25).
“We are thrilled to be able to offer our community, where we’ve been based for almost 30 years, the chance to gather to watch an array of some of the most beloved films in cinema history,” Chaisson added. “What a gift after the year we’ve all had!”
The free screenings commence at 8:30 p.m. For those interested in securing a front row seat, 8′ x 10′ squares – that accommodate up to six people – in the first two rows are available for $50, which supports HamptonsFilm’s year-round education and community programs. The free squares are available on a first come, first served basis.
Movie-goers may bring chairs, blankets, and even their own picnic (alcohol prohibited). There will be popcorn available on site – and eateries in the Village will be offering discounted picnic packages.
