Sag Harbor’s Romany Kramoris Gallery Showcasing Jorge Silveira And Stephen Palmer

Romany Kramoris Gallery will showcase fascinating found object art by Jorge Silveira as well as found object fish sculpture from Stephen Palmer on Thursday, June 27 through Thursday, July 18. An opening reception will be held on Saturday, June 29, from 5 to 7 p.m.

“This year, I have gravitated toward more color,” says Silveira. “I wanted to play with bright colors because I think that enhances the 3D-aspect of the pieces.” He continued, “I like to overcome challenges when I do my art, and this year’s challenge was playing with new material, pulling faces out of the backgrounds, adding words and phrases. The best feeling is when I see faces that inspire me, or objects, or new materials, and that becomes an idea that I rush to put on wood.”

The Gallery will also welcome Stephen Palmer, of Traverse City, Michigan, with his award winning multi-media found object fish sculptures. The sculpture is outlined by found objects such as wooden crutches while the dorsal and posterior fins are spatulas, pancake flippers, BBQ forks, screwdrivers and tools, cut and grated expandable rulers, not to mention drill bits.
