“Light In The Tunnel” Supports East End Domestic Violence Agency

“We are proud to support The Retreat and raise awareness for the only domestic violence agency on the East End, as they continue to provide safety, shelter and support to the victims of domestic abuse, and seek to break the cycle of family violence,” said Richard Demato, The Retreat Board Member and owner of RJD Gallery. “The Retreat is where violence ends and hope begins.”

For the sixth consecutive year, RJD Gallery in Sag Harbor is holding an art exhibit in support of The Retreat, the East End’s only non-profit domestic violence agency. “Light in the Tunnel” will showcase works from the winners of the 6th Annual Hampton’s Juried Art Contest; Gail Postal, Stephen Slater and Lauren Tilden. The gifted trio, who were selected from hundreds of artists who submitted sample works last fall, were chosen for their talent, varied techniques, and captivating subjects. The exhibit will also feature works from the contest’s honorable mentions; Deborah Buck, Eva Iacono and Carol Quint. Artwork featured in “Light in the Tunnel” was created specifically for the show. Pieces range from $1,200 to $12,000, with a portion of the proceeds going directly to The Retreat.

“Light in the Tunnel” is set to debut on Saturday, April 25th with an opening reception from 6 to 8 p.m. The exhibit will be on display through Monday, May 4th.
