Springs Mystery Art Sale Adds The Element Of Surprise To Purchasing Artwork

Do you have an eye for art? Would you be able to tell if a piece was created by David Salle, Liza Minnelli, Scott Hewett, Linda Capello, Paton Miller, William Raynor, or a student from Springs School? If you think so, take a chance during the Springs Mystery Art Sale, where the majority of 5″x7″ artwork will be sold for $20. Each piece, which is either made by a Springs student, artist, or celebrity, will be signed on the back and sold anonymously. The exhibit will also feature an auction wall, where select artwork will be sold to the highest bidder.

“It’s an opportunity to see if you can tell which art belongs to the hot shots and which are done by the kids,” noted Tana Lee Alves, who is one of the artists featured in the Springs Mystery Art Sale.

The Springs Mystery Art Sale will be on view at Ashawagh Hall starting Wednesday, April 29th through Friday, May 1st from 4 to 7 p.m., and Saturday, May 2nd from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. A Closing Reception with live music, a live auction, and lite bites will take place on Saturday, May 2nd from 3 to 5 p.m. All purchased artwork must be picked up on Sunday, May 3rd from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Proceeds from the exhibition will support the Visiting Artists Program and other art initiatives at Springs School.
