East End Of Long Island Fosters Artist’s Imagination

“From the very first moment I crossed the bridge over the Shinnecock Canal and entered the Eastern End of Long Island and on to Montauk, I knew I had made a very special connection,” said Franklin Engel. “I experienced a new creative energy that I had to capture.”

His East End inspiration can been seen in a new exhibit, “Shinnecock to Montauk,” at Romany Kramoris Gallery. “I had to capture the people and the beauty of these special places, including Sag Harbor, Springs, Amagansett, East Hampton, and Montauk,” shared the artist. “But it all began when I crossed that bridge at Shinnecock Canal.”

Engel was born and raised in New York City. He studied at the Art Students League and is honored to be a life member of the League. Engel’s work has been showcased in many galleries throughout New York, including the Deutsche Gallery, Gallery International, 57th Street Gallery, Fusion III, The Art Students League, and Enigma Gallery.

“Shinnecock to Montauk” will be on view Thursday, September 24th through Thursday, October 15th. A Preview Reception will take place on Saturday, September 26th from 5 to 6:30 p.m., and an Opening Reception will be held on Saturday, October 3rd from 5 to 6:30 p.m.
