Artist Dan Jones, who was recently featured in CBS Sunday Morning’s “Daniel Jones Always Shoots for Picture Perfect,” is set to debut his latest series at Tulla Booth Gallery in Sag Harbor. “The key word for any photographer is composition,” shared Tulla Booth of Tulla Booth Gallery. “Daniel’s new ‘Seaside Impression’ collection transforms the familiar into an alternate world.”

Jones, who is known for his powerful landscape images, typically captured in Black and White, will explore a softer side in “Seaside Impressions.” “The almost painterly pastel colors and soft motion gives one a calming feeling of peace that pulls the viewer in,” noted Booth about Jones’ exhibit. “The stunning color is all true to nature, altered only by the atmosphere created by the weather and light.” The pieces, which are captured with a digital camera, offer viewers a new perspective on the local scenery.
The Southold-based photographer shot his first series of large format photographs in 1986, while traveling in the Sierra Nevada Mountains, and since the early 90s, has dedicated all his efforts to fine art photography. Jones has been featured in several solo and group exhibits, earning various awards and honors. His latest series, Booth says, “is almost painterly and it creates a visual moment that pulls the viewer in.” The astonishing color palettes presented by Jones are all found in nature, changed solely by the environment.
