On Saturday, April 30th, Tulla Booth Gallery in Sag Harbor is debuting Spring Preview: A Forecast of our Summer Season Photography Exhibit.
“I’m excited about this show, which kicks off our strong 2016 season,” explained gallery owner Tulla Booth, who is also featured in the show. “The photographers are not only representative of the gallery but also of the caliber that sophisticated Hamptons buyers expect.”
Spring Preview will showcase works by Booth, Daniel Jones, Blair Seagram and Stephen Wilkes.
Along with owning her Sag Harbor gallery, Booth is a well-respected photographer and jewelry designer. The Water Mill-based artist will feature her Jewel’s of the Garden series in Black and White.
Jones calls the North Fork home. The former illustrator now focuses his energy on fine art photography, and he was recently profiled on CBS Sunday Morning. “We continue to show a stunning success with Dan Jones’s Beach Expression series,” added Booth. “We will be showing his other passion for mysterious flower abstractions.”
Seagram also resides on the East End. Her popular Surfing series explores the similarities of how photographers explores the similarities of how photographers see the world and how surfers assess the ocean – with patience, precision, and a profound appreciation for natural forces. “Blair Seagram’s classic close up water and surfer images continue to wow us,” shared Booth. Seagram’s work has been shown at Parrish Art Museum, the Heckscher Museum of Art, Sculpture Center, and more.
Wilkes’ works are included in the collections of the George Eastman Museum, James A. Michener Art Museum, Houston Museum of Fine Arts, Dow Jones Collection, Griffin Museum of Photography, Jewish Museum of NY, Library of Congress, Snite Museum of Art, The Historic New Orleans Collection, Museum of the City of New York, 9/11 Memorial Museum and multiple private collections. His photography has appeared in The New York Times Magazine, Vanity Fair, Time, Fortune, National Geographic, Sports Illustrated, and many others. “Stephen Wilkes’s wildly popular Day to Night Series are beautiful images of the most beloved cities of the world photographed from 100 ft cherry picker lift over a 12 hours period,” she explained.
An opening reception for Spring Preview: A Forecast of our Summer Season Photography Exhibit will take place on Saturday, April 30th from 6 to 8 p.m. The show will remain on view through Saturday, May 28th.
