The Tulla Booth Gallery in Sag Harbor is set to present Water. The new photography exhibit will debut on Saturday, July 16th and be on view through Monday, August 22nd.
“What better way to welcome the summer than to pay homage to the element that surrounds us?” asked Tulla Booth.
Water features the work of artists Daniel Jones, Blair Seagram, Herb Friedman, and Stephen Wilkes. “These particular artists have a passion for how they perceive it,” explained Booth. “I think each photographer is very evocative and their work stands alone.”
The exhibit’s theme is incredibly relevant to the area. “Water, whether it be the ocean, lake or pond, is full of symbolism and metaphor,” added Booth. “Out here on the East End we’re surrounded by it, so it’s impossible not to feel drawn to water no matter where we turn.”
Each artist clearly displays their own outlook on the subject. “The work in this show is very inspirational. Some are slightly calmer while others are very dramatic,” noted Booth. “Either way, they’re all quite exciting. They make you feel closer to nature. It’s the love of water.”
A special reception for Water will take place on Saturday, July 16th from 6 to 8 p.m.
Tulla Booth Gallery is devoted to displaying the artwork of emerging contemporary photographers, in both black, white, and color. Landscapes, exotic travel, and still-life are amongst the few subjects the gallery features.
