With the holiday weekend approaching, Southampton Artists Association (SAA) is inviting the East End community to explore works created by local artists during SAA’s annual Labor Day Art Exhibition at the Levitas Center for the Arts at the Southampton Cultural Center.

“We will have over 30 members taking part of the show,” shared SAA member Danielle Leef. “There will be oils, acrylics, watercolors, mixed media, sculptures and photography at this annual show. Most of the works are for sale, including many bin items at reasonable prices.”
The Labor Day Art Exhibition will launch on Wednesday, August 30 and remain on view through Sunday, September 10. SAA will host an opening reception on Saturday, September 2 from 4 to 6 p.m. and closing reception on Friday, September 8 from 4 to 6 p.m.
“There is food and wine and it is a great opportunity to come and meet the artists,” noted Dom Lamontanoro, PhD, SAA President. “There is also an opportunity for the public to make an offer to the artist for their artwork which is put in a sealed envelope and given to the artist directly.”
This exhibition will showcase works from Deborah Acquino, Gilda Block, Dennis Bontempo, John Philip Capello, Ian Carson, Donna Dean, Paul Dempsey, Imbi Ebrus, Stephanie Edmonds, Helen Giaquinto, Carol Gold, Donna Howard, Richard Kane, Murray Karn, Dom Lamontanaro, Danielle Leef, Katherine Liepe-Levinson, Henry Mangels, Andrew Masino, Martha McAleer, James McGarvey, Patricia McGrath, Russell Mercier, Pamela Morrison, Ron Nicoletta, Neva Setlow, James Slezak, Frank Sofo, and James Witker.
“This not for profit organization gives both professional and amateur artists, who live throughout the East End and surrounding areas, the opportunity to showcase their work in a gallery setting,” added Lamontanoro.

Along with the Labor Day Art Exhibition, SAA presents a late fall show in November, a winter show in February/March, and a Memorial Day show, and members also have the opportunity to be featured in a member show at Town Hall in Southampton every December/January.
SAA is comprised of artists who reside on the eastern end of Long Island, on both the South Fork and North Fork.
Admission to the Labor Day Art Exhibition and receptions is free.
