Southampton Artists Association (SAA) will host its annual fall fête – SAA’s final show of 2018 – at Southampton Cultural Center’s Levitas Center for the Arts this November.

“35 local artists will be participating as they showcase their oils, acrylics, mixed media, sculptures and photography,” noted board member Danielle Leef. “Most of all the works are for sale, including many bin items at reasonable prices.”
The Fall Art Show will debut on Wednesday, November 7 and remain on display through Sunday, November 18.
This year’s autumn exhibition will showcase works by Deborah Acquino, Dennis Bontempo, John Cardone, Joann Corretti, Donna Dean, Paul Dempsey, Matt Dibernardo, Dale Drake, Imbi Ebrus, Jason Fox, Helen Giaquinto, Gerry Giliberti, Donna Hoard, Dave Johns, Murray Karn, Dom Lamontanaro, Danielle Leef, Jean Mahoney, James McGarvey, Galina Melnik, Russell Mercier, Barbara Moeller, Pamela Morrison, Ron Nicoletta, Bonnie Ruben, Neva Setlow, Lorne Singh, James Slezak, Frank R. Sofo, Pamela Thomson, Aurelo Torres, Maureen Travers, Pamela Vossen, James Wightman and James Witker.

SAA, a not for profit organization that was founded in 1988, is comprised of professional and amateur artists, with several award winning artists among them, who reside from Southampton and beyond. Southampton Artists Association offers four annual shows at the Levitas Center for the Arts, as well as a fine outdoor art show at the Art in the Park held in July at Agawam Park in Southampton. The organization also presents a collective members show at Town Hall in Southampton every December and January.

“Our Association is over 30 years old and seeks to sponsor and help enhance the cultural of art in the local area,” board member James Slezak explained. “Southampton Artists Association serves as a point of contact for individuals with questions about the art activities in our area via our website.”
Local artists interested in fine-tuning their skills can attend one of SAA’s classes taught by professional artists. Linda Capello leads a life drawing class every Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., while an all media workshop with SAA President Dom Lamontanoro takes place every Thursday from 1 to 4 p.m. Both are held at Southampton Cultural Center.
An opening reception for the Fall Art Show will be held on Friday, November 9 from 4 to 6 p.m. and the closing reception will be held on Friday, November 16 from 4 to 6 p.m. Admission to both soirees is free and the events are open to the public. Many of the artists will be in attendance, available to chat with attendees about their works.
