Legendary country music star, Willie Nelson who just turned 80 in April is heading to the Hamptons for a performance at the Surf Lodge in Montauk on June 9 at 6 p.m.
A popular destination for local and international travelers, The Surf Lodge, has a beautiful dream-like quality with sunshine, surfing, and nightlife that everyone wants to be a part of. The Lodge is known to pack up quickly, so fans better get there early to find a parking spot, as well as find a prime spot to see Willie perform.
The Surf Lodge has teamed up with the Montauk Playhouse Community Center Foundation (MPCCF) for the 2013 Concert Series to help raise funds for a community center project. While the concert is free, tickets which guarantee access to the concert were available through MPCCF and 100 percent of the ticket sales will benefit MPCCF.
Project Director of MPCCF Maureen Rutkowski, was thrilled about the collaboration stating, “This is a fantastic opportunity for us to spread the word about and raise funds for the MPCCF, and the monies raised will go a long way towards helping us meet our financial goals for constructing the new Aquatic Center at the Playhouse.” She continued, “We’re so appreciative of the generosity of Jayma Cardoza, and everyone at the Surf Lodge, and we applaud their outstanding community spirit. Montauk needs and wants a community pool—being the beneficiary of a special event like this gets us that much closer towards realizing our community dream!”
Other upcoming Tri-State area stops for Nelson include the Hard Rock Cafe in New York City on June 6, NYCB Theater at Westbury on June 7, and Caesars Atlantic City on June 8.
