The Montauk Beach House recently announced the launch of their Sound Waves @ The House summer programming. The series will feature seven weeks of fashion, art, and music which begins on July 20 runs through August 31. There will be events every Saturday from 12 to 7 p.m. that will include DJs, live musical performances, high-end fashion shows, and art exhibits available on an invite-only basis.
The series begins with famed English synthpop musician and pioneer of electronic music, Vince Clarke, who found success playing with various groups and bands over the years. Among these groups were Depeche Mode, Yaz, the Assembly, and Erasure (with which he has sold over 25 million records). The multitalented Clarke, who is also renowned for his songwriting ability, will be performing a DJ set on this occasion.
Clarke will be followed the next week by Roger Taylor of Duran Duran on July 27. Taylor was the drummer and a founding member of the English new wave rock band, which has sold 70 million records worldwide and produced 18 hit singles in America. Ever since Duran Duran’s brief break in the ‘90s, Taylor has also been experimenting with music as a DJ. He made a string of underground dance hall records, and produced the song “Love Is Like Oxygen” with the band Freebass. The song went on to be a top 10 hit on the U.K. charts.
The British house music trio, Dirty Vegas, will perform a set on the same day as Roger Taylor. The group, which consists of Ben Harris, Paul Harris, and Steven Smith, are known for their Grammy winning debut single “Days Go By” that peaked at #14 on the U.S. charts. They have sold over 1 million albums in their brief history together. This summer, the Hamptons will be the latest addition to the globetrotting Dirty Vegas’s traveling repertoire, having toured all across the world (including performances at music festivals like Ultra and Coachella).
Sound Waves @ The House will announce its line-up of fashion talents and brand partners, along with a complete list of musical guests, in the near future. The Montauk Beach House opened July 2012 and professes to structure their philosophy around creating a fun and engaging environment for their guests. Past musical performances have included Andy Rourke of The Smiths, Mark Ronson, and Canadian haute rock band Young Empires. Guests can enjoy the music while relaxing at the hotel’s poolside, day lounge, or cabana section.
“Our music and fashion series offers guests a unique experience. We have some of the best music talent in the world to be enjoyed in the private and beautiful environment of the Montauk Beach House,” said Chris Jones of the Montauk Beach House. “With Vince Clarke opening our series, we give guests a taste of what is to come – a heritage hip experience mixed with some of the best new acts internationally,”
The seven-event series runs from Saturday July 20 to Saturday August 31 with both grand opening and closing celebrations. All events in the series are complimentary and by invitation-only.
