The Choral Society of the Hamptons is looking for a few lucky East End residents to join them during their next concert on Sunday, March 22nd at the East Hampton Presbyterian Church. Auditions are by appointment on Friday, January 23rd. Those interested in auditioning are invited to sit in for the Society’s first rehearsal on Friday evening, January 16th at the East Hampton Presbyterian Church.
Founded in 1946, Choral Society of the Hamptons has performed a repertoire of music by all the great choral composers throughout the years. The organization draws members from across the East End and has performed with renowned artists such as Dave Brubeck, Norman Dello Joio, Clamma Dale, and members of the Metropolitan Opera. Their talent has been showcased internationally in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, as well as in New York City at Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, and at the annual Rockefeller Center Christmas-tree-lighting ceremony.
Their upcoming concert will feature Brahms’ Liebeslieder Waltzes and guest conductor Jennifer Scott Miceli will lead the Chorus. Rehearsals will take place generally on Fridays from 7:30 to 10 p.m.
