This summer marks the 30th anniversary of the Concert in the Park series, sponsored by Southampton Cultural Center. Every Wednesday beginning at 6:30 p.m., a local band will take the stage at either Agawam Park or Coopers Beach for an evening of complimentary music.
Executive Director of the Southampton Cultural Center, Kirsten Lonnie, expressed, “We are pleased to be celebrating 30 years of Concerts in the Park which in the words of former mayor Bill Hattrick, founder of the Southampton Cultural Center and the Concerts in the Park Series, ‘measures it’s success by the countless numbers of happiness these concerts bring to our audiences’ lives.”
Funded by Saunders & Associates, the Southampton Bath & Tennis Charitable Fund, Suffolk County, and the Town of Southampton, the summer concert series brings together people of all ages. Attendees can come with their own lounge chair or blanket, and set up a picnic as they listen to bands like Nancy Atlas, The Lone Sharks, Mambo Loco, and many more!
This year’s line-up includes Nancy Atlas on Tuesday, July 5th at Agawam Park, The Lone Sharks on Wednesday, July 6th at Coopers Beach, Center Stage at Sunset on Saturday, July 9th at Agawam Park, Danza Nova on Wednesday, July 13th at Agawam Park, David Glukh Klezmer Ensemble on Wednesday, July 20th at Agawam Park, New Life Crisis on Wednesday, July 27th at Coopers Beach, Shotgun Wedding on Wednesday, August 3rd at Agawam Park, AdLib Steel Orchestra on Wednesday, August 10th at Coopers Beach, boho4 Strings Chamber Ensemble on Saturday, August 13th at Agawam Park, Billboard Live on Wednesday, August 17th at Agawam Park, Rhonda Denet on Wednesday, August 24th at Agawam Park, Mambo Loco on Wednesday, August 31st at Agawam Park and Project Vibe on Sunday, September 4th (at 5 p.m.) at Coopers Beach.
