“I’m excited to announce the beginning of the third annual Songwriters Share concert series,” shared Nancy Remkus, who organizes the performances. “This is the series that gives back to the community – benefiting seven local charities. Each local songwriter has chosen a local charity to share concert proceeds with.”
The series will begin on Friday, January 13th with singer/songwriter Mariann Megna, who will be accompanied by musicians Klyph Black, James Benard and Michael LeClerc. The concert will mark the introduction of Sunlight Chant, the musicians’ new album, live and CD’s will be available for purchase.
“Songwriters share what inspired them to write their songs and they share the proceeds of the concert with a local charity of their choice,” noted Remkus.
Mariann and friends will be playing in support of Maureen’s Haven whose mission is to “protect the East End homeless by providing shelter, supportive services and compassionate care for individuals in need.”
The concert will be held at the Unitarian Universalist Meetinghouse of the South Fork and begin at 8 p.m. A complimentary reception will follow each concert.
“Please come out to support this concert series that reaches far into our community,” added Remkus.
Other shows will include India Eaton playing for Project Most on Friday, February 3rd, Nancy Remkus playing for Long Pond Greenbelt on Saturday, February 11th, Caroline Doctorow playing for Bridgehampton Child Care on Friday, March 3rd, Fred Raimondo playing for The Retreat on Friday, April 7th, Gene Casey playing for East End Hospice on Friday, May 5th and Dan Koontz playing for Therapeutic Riding Center of the East End on Friday, June 2nd.
