Celebrate Independence Day With Musician Phoebe Legere At Stephen Talkhouse

Musician Phoebe Legere is headlining her sole performance on the East End for the summer on the 4th of July at the Stephen Talkhouse in Amagansett! Legere will be celebrating both our country’s and her own birthday during her performance. Legere’s band, Zock: Music That Will Save The World!, will accompany her for the Independence Day concert. Zock stars Legere on seven instruments, plus dancing and singing, and some of the hottest Long Island Roots music celebrities, including Bill “Ah Yes!” Ayass on Mandolin and Fiddle and Zack “Young Brooklyn” on Bass.

Legere has released 17 CDs of original and traditional music, and was featured in HBO’s documentary It’s Me Hillary. She has also opened for the late David Bowie on one of his national tours.

Legere’s new album, Heart of Love, broke onto the Roots Music Radio Charts Top 20. “If you’ve ever wondered what it would sound like if Woodstock took place in 1940s New Orleans, Heart of Love by Phoebe Legere might give you a good idea,” TheCelebrityCafe.com said about the new album. “Her latest album hit stores Feb. 14 and is a work truly unlike anything you’ve ever heard before.”

This summer, Legere is set to drive across the country in her Visionary Van in order to celebrate her new 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization, Foundation for New American Art, which is dedicated to bringing art and music to children in low-income communities.

“In giving back, we’re becoming more grounded and spiritual. It’s called ‘sharing, and that is how we make a difference,” Legere explained. “Interacting with people as we work, travel, perform. That helps us become better artists.”

During the program, Legere will discuss her music and paintings. It can be seen on Friday, June 30 at 8 p.m. and Sunday, July 2 at 3:30 p.m.

Ticket’s to the performance range from $20 to $35 and can be purchased online. The performance starts at 8 p.m.
