Suffolk Theater (118 East Main Street, Riverhead, ww.suffolktheater.com) will offer several opportunities to revel in the sounds of the season. A John Denver Xmas, starring Ted Vigil, can be seen on Thursday, December 19 at 7:30 p.m. Lords of 52nd Street Xmas – Legends of the Billy Joel Band – will take the stage on Friday, December 20 at 8 p.m. and five-time Grammy Award winning, singer-songwriter-producer, CeeLo Green is bringing his Holiday Hits Tour to the Suffolk Theater on Sunday, December 22 at 7:30 p.m.
The Heart Of Springs’ Holiday Sing Along will be held on Friday, December 20 at 5 p.m. Fellowship Hall (5 Old Stone Highway, Springs) will be filled with seasonal favorites from O Come All Ye Faithful to O Hanukah, and beloved tunes from Elvis, Bing Crosby, and more. There will even be a special appearance from Santa. There is no fee or tickets needed to attend. Just be ready to belt out your favorite holiday songs.
The 2019 Rites of Spring Holidays Concert at Castello di Borghese (17150 County Road 48, Cutchogue, www.eventbrite.com) on Saturday, December 21 will encompass popular music by Shostakovich, Bartok, Beethoven and Cui showcased by a talented trio: Yanki Karataş, violinist, Ginevra Petrucci, flutist and Paolo Bartolani, pianist and Artistic Director of Rites of Spring Music Festival. The festivities will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. and tickets are $25. Admission includes one glass of wine, chocolate and pastries during the intermission.
A Gilbert & Sullivan Christmas Carol will take over the Old Whalers’ Church (44 Union Street, Sag Harbor, www.facebook.com) on Sunday, December 22 from 3 to 5 p.m. The unique afternoon will feature the classic Dickens tale, with words inspired by W.S. Gilbert, and music by Arthur Sullivan. Tickets are $15 for children and $25 for general admission.
English Handbell choir, The Harbor Bells will present their annual Christmas Concert, offering holiday favorites, as well as unique twists on classics like Stairway to Heaven and Over the Rainbow, on the North Fork and South Fork. The first, at Peconic Landing (1500 Brecknock Road, Greenport), will take place on Friday, December 20 at 7:30 p.m. Harbor Bell will spread even more holiday cheer at St. Andrew’s Church (Rte 114, Sag Harbor, www.facebook.com) on Sunday, December 22 at 4 p.m. There is no fee to attend the Peconic Landing performance and the St. Andrews concert-goers are asked to bring a donation for the food pantry.
