International Fashion Model Elena Matei Launches Career In Music As “Mateia” And Releases New Single “Magic World”

Elena Matei, a native of Moldova, has graced the covers of top international fashion magazines, but is now simultaneously returning to her love of music with her latest single Magic World. Under the stage name “Mateia,” Elena has recently shifted her focus back onto her own artistic expression. She is gearing up to release numerous self-written tracks this year while continuing to pursue her successful modeling career.

Like many women today, Mateia is committed to making an impact in the world through her creative pursuits. We caught up with the model, singer, and songwriter to learn more about her creative journey and lessons learned along the way.

You’ve pursued so many types of careers during your life with art always being a core focus. Did you have one set job you dreamed of having as a little girl?

EM: I’ve always had a love for the arts and knew I wanted to turn my passion into a career one day. Aside from art, as a little girl I also dreamed of becoming an astronaut!

What was a valuable lesson you learned while modeling for top international fashion magazines?

EM: A few of the most valuable lessons I’ve learned through modeling is to be present, punctual and participate in a positive way.

What qualities from your life in Moldova stick with you as you continue to travel the world and establish yourself in new places?

EM: A quality that will always stick with me is the importance of being a good human being and treating others with kindness and respect.

You are diving back into the world of music! What was the inspiration behind Magic World?

EM: The inspiration behind Magic World is the pure, innocent, and magical feelings felt while being in love. It was inspired by my own experience and moments from my real life.

What aspects do you love about music that you aren’t able to express in other creative mediums you’ve worked in?

EM: I love how music expresses emotions. You are telling a story through the song and I am so inspired by the way people can connect and relate to the feelings conveyed through the lyrics.

Do you have any exciting projects coming up in 2021?

EM: I have a lot of exciting projects in the works! A few special modeling campaigns and am also gearing up to release a new music album.
