The Water Mill Museum is making its seasonal opening on Thursday, May 22, where they will debut two new exhibits as well as their annual Members’ Art Show and Sale.
The Museum will highlight the history permanent gallery exhibits during short video. Board member, Marlene Haresign, worked with Richard Barons, historian, and Jason Nower, videographer, to write, shoot and edit the film.

Inspiration for the second exhibit came from Water Mill resident, Arthur Muller, who was recently issued an honorary lifetime membership to the Museum for his decades of service to the community as Postmaster as well as his support for the Water Mill Community Club and the Museum.
The Water Mill Postal Service exhibit begins back in the 1800’s, and expands to recent times. It features a photo-journalistic presentation in posters, news clippings, stories, postcards and even a well-known WANTED poster from the FBI. Also on display, aluminum egg packing boxes that would travel the Long Island Rail Road back and forth to deliver eggs, and a cardboard shipping box that contained baby chicks on their way from Pennsylvania to Water Mill.
On Saturday, May 31, the Water Mill Museum is hosting a reception and demonstration of giant mill grinding-stones and grinding corn, to celebrate the opening and the Annual Members’ Art Show. The event from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. is open to the public.
Admission to the Museum is free, donations suggested, and the exhibit will be open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and is closed on Tuesdays.
