This summer, join Southampton Arts Center and Hamptons International Film Festival on Friday evenings for complimentary screenings of classic comedies, thrillers and family-friendly films.

On Friday, July 15th, get ready for a comedic cross-country journey to Wally World with Chevy Chase and the Griswolds during National Lampoon’s Vacation.
Round up the kids on Friday, July 22nd and enjoy Surf’s Up. The family-oriented animated comedy follows a surfing penguin that’s riding a professional high as he embarks on his debut professional competition.
On Friday, July 29th, watch Sylvester Stallone as Rocky Balboa, a struggling boxer that’s trying to make a name for himself in the boxing world. The time arrives when heavyweight champion Apollo Creed makes a stop in Philadelphia in search of a “Cinderalla” opponent for an Independence Day bicentennial match.
Don’t miss Robert Redford as he takes on the role of a U.S. Senate candidate during The Candidate on Friday, August 5th. The political drama takes a look at the manipulations of media-age political campaigns.
On Friday, August 12th get ready for a thriller when The Shining is screened. Described as “a masterpiece of modern horror” by critics, the Stanley Kubrick film is a frightening adaptation of the Stephen King novel, which mixes terrifying special effects and chilling performances.
“It’s so rewarding to see families introducing their children to the films that they grew up with and love,” added Chaisson.
Screenings begin at 8:30 p.m. and it’s recommended that attendees bring their own bring chairs, blankets and picnics.
