Douglas Elliman Sponsoring Hamptons Take 2 Documentary Film Festival’s Community Day

Douglas Elliman will be sponsoring the inaugural Community Day at the Hamptons Take 2 Documentary Film Festival (HT2FF) at Bay Street Theater in Sag Harbor. This day-long event on Monday, December 4 will be free to the public. Films start at 2 p.m. on Monday with Eye of the Lammergeier and continue at 3:30 p.m. with I Know a Man…Ashley Bryan, followed by The Lavender Scare at 5 p.m. The evening with conclude with Killer Bees at 7 p.m.

“We’re so excited to support the festival on its tenth anniversary. And, in doing so, provide free access for everyone to view these important documentaries,” said Carl Benincasa, Douglas Elliman’s Regional Vice President of Sales for the Hamptons. 

Douglas Elliman’s Sag Harbor office will also be open from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. for an open house with a catered brunch.

The annual December Hamptons film festival gives the community a unique opportunity to view the work of very talented individuals. They recognize and honor film and filmmakers who deserve a closer look. HT2FF is founded and run by documentary filmmaker, Jacqui Lofaro, who has a passion for the genre that celebrates what it takes to produce a memorable doc. This film festival builds community around the art of visual storytelling. The mission is “to create high-visibility, theatrical venues for talented documentary filmmakers whose work deserves screen time, a second cut or ‘take 2’ as they say in the movie making business.” The Advisory Board is comprised of Julie Anderson, Karen Arikian, Lana Jokel, Susan Lacy, Don Lenzer, Susan Margolin, RJ Millard, Nigel Noble, Roger Sherman, Ron Simon, and Jason Weinberg.

In addition, Bay Street Theater runs a year-round Library Outreach program that provides festival films to East End libraries. They also have study workshops, taught by industry professionals to help motivate young filmmakers in the art and mechanics of the documentary. Bay Street Theater is always looking for partnerships with organizations, institutions, and film schools.
