The Backyard Restaurant at Solé East Resort in Montauk is utilizing its expansive outdoor space this summer by hosting Session Series with events-based media company MURMRR.
“During this unprecedented time, we think it’s important to still offer our communities a safe outdoor space where people can get together over art and culture and still feel connected,” Dave Ceva, Solé East Owner, noted.
The series, which will feature outdoor movies, musical performances, comedians and more, kicked off on Thursday, July 9 with Neon’s Palm Springs, followed by The Goonies on Sunday, July 12.
“We thought it would be exciting to program a mix of both new and classic films,” Brian Kelly, MURMRR Founder and Director of Events, explained. “So, we’re presenting premieres of Andy Samberg’s new existential comedy Palm Springs and Alison Brie’s horror thriller The Rental.”
Kelly continued, “We’re also showing family-focused favorites like Moana, The Goonies and Raiders of the Lost Ark.”
Movie-goers are encouraged to bring their own chairs and blankets, and if they get hungry items from Solé’s dinner menu will be available for purchase.
Upcoming screenings will include Gimme Shelter (Friday, July 17), Raiders of the Lost Ark (Sunday, July 19), The Rental – The Hamptons’ premiere of Dave Franco’s directorial debut (Friday, July 24), and Moana (Sunday, July 26).
Attendees will be spaced at least 6 feet apart from other parties. Masks will be mandatory upon entering the premise and when attendees leave their reserved seats.
Tickets are required to attend and space is limited to adhere to social distancing guidelines. Tickets to the July screenings range from free to $20. Doors open at 8:30 p.m. and the film begins at 9 p.m.
