If a trip to London isn’t in your cards, get your share of British theater by stopping by Guild Hall at 8 p.m. on Friday June 14 for a screening of the National Theatre Live’s presentation of Helen Mirren in “The Audience”. Mirren is reprising her Academy Award winning role as Queen Elizabeth II in the West End production directed by Academy Award-nominated director Stephen Daldry.
For sixty years Elizabeth II met with each of her twelve Prime Ministers in a private weekly meeting at Buckingham Palace. The unspoken agreement never to repeat what is said is broken with “The Audience” which imagines a series of critical meetings between the Downing Street incumbents and their Queen.
Tickets are $18 for general admission and $16 for members. Guild Hall is located at 158 Main Street in East Hampton. For more information call 631-324-0806 or visit www.guildhall.org
