On Saturday, January 10th, Bay Street Theater and Sag Harbor Center for the Arts will celebrate American Rock and Roll icon, Elvis Presley, during “ELVIS 80: A Tribute To The King.” The bash is honoring what would have been The King’s 80th birthday on Thursday, January 8th. Starting at 8 p.m., Gene Casey and the Lone Sharks will belt out Presley’s world famous hits with special guests, including East End rock band, The Vendettas.
Gene Casey and the Lone Sharks have been rocking the Hamptons’ music scene since the 1990s. The Lone Sharks feature Chris Ripley on the drums, Paul Scher on the saxophone, and Tony Palumbo on the upright bass. The band has famously collaborated with Wanda Jackson, Bill Kirchen, Elvis Costello, and TINY TIM, and have most recently released an all-original album, “Untrained,” which includes 12 songs with everything from romantic 60s pop to classic country and early rock and roll.
The evening’s special guests, The Vendettas, a band founded by guitarist Jay “Jaybone” Janoski, draws their sound primarily from Elvis, Eddie Cochran, Carl Perkens, and Jonny Cash. For the past six years, the band has amazed the East End with Rockabilly and Roots Rock hits, and are happy to participate in the tribute.
Tickets are $25.
