The February school break might seem far away, but this hot Hamptons theater workshop sells out year after year, so make sure to reserve a spot for your children now.
Bay Street Theater & Sag Harbor Center for the Arts is holding its annual Kids School Vacation Theater Camp starting Monday, February 16th through Friday, February 20th. The workshop is open to ages 8 to 12 and runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily during the week-long program.
Bethany Dellapolla will lead the workshop where attendees will practice their acting, singing, performance, dance, and other theatrical skills. Students will also have the chance to partake in entertaining, imaginative theater games and improv to help cultivate their abilities. During the classes, children will learn standard songs and choreography, and they will also be encouraged to come up with their own original work. The program culminates with a performance at Bay Street for friends and family.
Dellapolla received a BA in both Theatre Performance and Radio/Television Production from SUNY New Paltz, and also received a Master’s Degree in Childhood Education from Long Island University. She continues to study her technique through programs like Straeon Acting Studios, Linda Strasser Studios, and Broadway Dance Center. Dellapolla teaches, choreographs, and directs various theater camps, productions, and classes throughout Long Island and Manhattan. Her regional and NYC acting credits include roles in “Love, Loss, and What I Wore,” “The Graduate,” “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee,” “Cabaret,” “The Laramie Project,” “The Miss Firecracker Contest,” “Company,” “Ruthless!,” and “The New World.”
Admission to Bay Street Theater & Sag Harbor Center’s Kids School Vacation Theater Camp is $385 for the week per child.
