Bay Street Theater is welcoming Darrell Hammond for a one-night only special comedy show on Saturday, July 25th at 8 p.m. This one-of-a-kind evening includes a VIP ticket opportunity to mix and mingle with the comedian during a cocktail party following the performance.
Actor and comedian Darrell Hammond fondly remembers his first taste of show biz at the young age of five-years-old. While at his Melbourne, Florida home, Hammond would crack up loved ones with impressions of family members. Even though he had a knack for making people laugh, it wasn’t until many years later that Hammond realized he wanted to make comedy his career.
During his time on “Saturday Night Live,” Hammond brought to life a parade of notable names, politicians, media figures, celebrities and news icons. He is recognized as one of the most prolific comedians of his time. The comedian often tours comedy clubs and theaters, showcasing an impressive number of spot on impressions that have audiences nationwide in hysterics. Al Gore, Bill Clinton, Sean Connery, Regis Philbin, Dan Rather, John Travolta, Jesse Jackson, Richard Dreyfus, Jay Leno and Ted Koppel are amongst the great number of people the former “SNL” cast member has mimicked.
In 2015, Hammond took on a new character, KFC’s Colonel Sanders. “I had played Clinton 10 years before I got this kind of attention,” Hammond told Esquire about the role.
Tickets to Darrell Hammond’s Bay Street show range from $69 to $129.
