The Hampton Ballet Theatre School (HBTS) is set to present their 7th annual production of Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker. The beloved ballet will take center stage at Guild Hall’s John Drew Theater on Friday, December 11th at 7 p.m., Saturday, December 12th at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m., and Sunday, December 13th at 2 p.m.
“I am very excited for our 2015 Nutcracker,” expressed Sara Jo Strickland, Director of Hampton Ballet Theatre School. “The dancing is on a high caliber both with the professional level students and the dance professionals that are joining us this year.”
Once again, Strickland has choreographed the production, which will showcase ornate costumes designed and hand sewn by Yuka Silvera and lighting design by Sebastian Paczynski. Adam and Gail Baranello of A&G Dance Company will join HBTS to take on two treasured roles. “We have Nick Peregrino dancing the role of Dew Drop Prince, Tim Sloan dancing the role off Snow King and Nicholas Sipes dancing the role of Cavalier and Adam and Gail Baranello dancing the role of Arabian Prince and Princess,” noted Strickland. Abigail and Caitlin Hubbell, both Pro Student Level 6 at HBTS, will share the Sugar Plum Fairy role.
The holiday classic takes audiences on a journey to a far, far away land, where angels, snowflakes and flowers dance and Clara rescues the Nutcracker Prince from the wicked Mouse King. “It will be a holiday gift for all,” said Strickland.
