Bay Street Theater & Sag Harbor Center for the Arts is bringing back Montauk’s Nancy Atlas for their beloved “Fireside Sessions with Nancy Atlas and a special guest,” held at the Sag Harbor-based Theater. After sold out shows in January and March of this past year, the 2016 January concerts will yet again showcase the talents of the local favorite, who will be joined onstage by a special guest for each Saturday night performance. The not-to-be-missed series will debut with violinist Randi Fishenfeld on Saturday, January 2nd.
“We wanted to offer this popular series again this year,” said Gary Hygom, Producer at Bay Street Theater. “People just love coming out each weekend and rockin’ out with Nancy and her guests and her concerts sold out last winter just about every night.”
Atlas, who was raised in Commack and now resides in Montauk, is known for her raw live shows and impressive songwriting skills. The musician and her band, The Nancy Atlas Project, have served as the opening act for several iconic performers, including Jimmy Buffett, Lucinda Williams, Paul Simon, Kris Kristofferson, GE Smith, Toots and the Maytals, Crosby, Stills and Nash, Elvis Costello, and many other notable names. They’re also regulars at several East End hotspots, like The Surf Lodge and Stephen Talkhouse.
The January “Fireside Sessions” will feature violinist Randi Fishenfeld on Saturday, January 2nd, drummer Simon Kirke (a member of Free and Bad Company) on January 9th, trombonist Clark Gayton on Saturday, January 16th, guitarist Andy Aledort & Friends on Saturday, January 23rd, and keyboardist Danny Kean on Saturday, January 30th.
All concerts start at 8 p.m. Tickets are $25.
