Acclaimed poet Grace Schulman will read from her new collection, “Without a Claim,” at Canios Books in Sag Harbor on Saturday, October 12, at 5 p.m.
Her most recent works covers art, music, faith, and history, with the title poem referring to the Montauk sachem who sold land without any notion of rights to property. The poet’s accomplishments include a Guggenheim fellowship, three Pushcart prizes, the Aiken-Taylor Award, New York University’s Distinguished Alumni Award, and the Delmore Schwartz Memorial Award.
“‘Without a Claim’ is a modern Book of Psalms. No matter your mood upon entering this world you’ll soon be grateful, and enchanted,” said Pulitzer Prize-winning author Philip Schultz.
Schulman is a distinguished professor of English at Baruch College, CUNY.
