If you still haven’t found your summer beach or poolside reads, look no further – because Bedside Reading is kicking off its 20th season with a Memorial Day Weekend tote bag.
“We are so excited to be kicking off our 20th season with such a fabulous line-up of authors,” said Jane Ubell-Meyer, Founder of Bedside Reading. “Who knew that when I launched ‘Buzz Bags’ on May 26, 2002, we would still be here twenty beach seasons later.”
The 2021 Memorial Day Weekend iteration will include Suzanne Simonetti’s The Sound of Wings (fiction), Willow Rose’s Don’t Lie to Me (thriller), Laura Munson’s Willa’s Grove (fiction), Donna Schwartze’s Eight Years (romantic suspense), Deborah Wilde’s Throwing Shade (humorous paranormal women’s fiction), Zibby Owens’ Moms Don’t Have Time To: A Quarantine Anthology (anthology), Deborah Goodrich Royce’s Ruby Falls (thriller), Amanda M. Fairbanks’ The Lost Boys of Montauk (historical nonfiction), Christy Whitman’s The Desire Factor (empowerment non-fiction), and Lori Wilde, Priscilla Oliveras, and Sarah Skilton’s Summer in The City (women’s romance fiction).
“We’ve worked with Bedside Reading for years, placing our books in hotels, in gift bags, even sharing online,” said Abby Zidle, Associate Marketing Director, Gallery Books (Simon & Schuster). “Supported by the beautiful social posts and extensive media coverage they secure, we’ve found this to be a great way to make ‘beach reads season’ last all year long! We congratulate them on celebrating 20 seasons in the Hamptons!”
The complimentary Bedside Reading Memorial Day Weekend tote bag will be available at MARRAM in Montauk; The Baker House 1650, Mill House Inn, The Maidstone Hotel, and Huntting Inn in East Hampton; Southampton Inn in Southampton; White Fences Inn in Water Mill; Topping Rose House in Bridgehampton; and Hyatt Place Long Island/East End and The Preston House & Hotel in Riverhead. The reads will also be available at Lucille Khornak Gallery in Bridgehampton (while supplies last).
“Bedside Reading has been a great partner. We love their books which always add to the experience we offer our guests,” said Dede Gotthelf, owner, Southampton Inn. “We are thrilled with our relationship and look forward to many more seasons!”
To commemorate the milestone, Bedside has a few special happenings lined up. “And we are excited to announce our first summer book signing event to take place on July 21st at the Lucille Khornak Gallery in Bridgehampton with authors such as Amanda M. Fairbanks, Laurie Gelman, Debby Kruszewski, and others,” Ubell-Meyer noted. “This is all very meaningful and special to me because I vacationed in The Hamptons every summer when I was a child.”
The Memorial Day Weekend tote bag will be available to pick up Wednesday, May 26 at 5:00 p.m. until Monday, May 31- or until they run out.
