Mr. Softee will be there? I’m in. Helping school children who need school supplies? Even better.
On May 7, Ross School families and friends will gather for the Ross Cares Community Service Fair at the Ross Upper School located at 18 Goodfriend Dr in East Hampton from 10am to 4pm. They will purchase 500 supply-filled backpacks for local children in-need to return to school ready and confident this Fall. The backpack distribution will serve underprivileged students from Southampton, East Hampton, Bridgehampton, Springs and Tuckahoe Schools.
The fair itself will be a lot of fun. The event will kick off with a Welcome Walk and Fun Run to support the Ross Annual Fund that finishes at the Ross Center for Well Being with a visit from Mr. Softee. The entire theme of the event will encourage and promote acts of community service. “We are thrilled for the opportunity to work with Ross to empower their students to make a difference in the lives of local children whose families cannot afford the essentials for learning. Empowering children to give back to kids in need in their community not only teaches them compassion but teaches them a life lesson in how to find happiness. It’s a win-win!” Mindy Richenstein, Founder and President of Supplies for Success said.

The event is parent-led and will offer up food from the Ross Café, networking opportunities with Ross parent committees and visiting local organizations who will be on site and include: CTREE – Center for Therapeutic Riding of the East End, Bridgehampton Child Care and Recreational Center, Citizens For Humanity, Maureen’s Haven, OLA of Eastern Long Island, Project Most, Hamptons United Ross Parent Committees which include Community, Care Committee -Advancement Committee, Campus Beautification Committee, Environmental Committee, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee, Babysitters Club, Admissions and Welcome Committee, The Retreat, Stony Hill Stables Foundation and the Southampton Animal Shelter Foundation.
