
The Parrish Art Museum celebrates art, artists, and the community at Welcome Day on Sunday, September 18th. An opportunity for all members of the community—adults, children, and families—to experience everything the Parrish offers year round.
Visitors get free admission to the Museum all day and with free activities from 1-4 pm, including family art workshops, popup materials workshop with the Imagination Play Project, guided tours of our engaging exhibitions, and an art scavenger hunt of the exhibition Joaquín Sorolla and Esteban Vicente: In the Light of the Garden.
Joaquín Sorolla and Esteban Vicente: In the Light of the Garden—a new exhibition that introduces the work of two preeminent Spanish artists in the context of the light and color emanating from their gardens. Theexhibition features paintings dating from 1916–1919 by Sorolla; and paintings, works on paper, and small sculptures made between 1985 and 2000 by Vicente who lived and worked in Bridgehampton for decades. The exhibition is augmented by paintings and works on paper by Parrish collection artists including Jennifer Bartlett, Charles Burchfield, William Merritt Chase, Robert Dash, Arshile Gorky, Robert Jakob, Jane Peterson, William Lamb Picknell, Fairfield Porter, Ned Smyth, Saul Steinberg, Joseph Stella, Michelle Stuart, Billy Sullivan, and Donald Sultan—each inspired by their own landscapes.
